Volume II Plate 37 - The Temple of Het-Hert at Deir el-Medina (Interior Perspective view) ~ The image of the goddess Hathor, the goddess of love and women, is sculpted in several areas of this small, well preserved grand temple, appearing at the top of the column and above the portal. A winged sun disk also appears in multiple places. An opening in the ceiling was positioned by the ancient architects to augment the portals and allow a great deal of sunlight into this ornate and brightly colored temple.
