A copper plate engraved map with hand colored wash. Size: 10 inches X 13-3/4 inches Map Type: Atlas This is a superior copy, a dark impression with vivid colors. Taken from L'Histoire Générale des Voyages. This colonial map covers most of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Maryland with a bit of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The interior is fully engraved with topographical details of mountains and rivers. It illustrates an early network of trails and wagon roads as issued just prior to the start of the French & Indian War.
