An lithographed map, with full color wash Size: 13-1/2 inches X 17 inches. Map Type: Atlas This is an excellent copy, with vivid colors. Some light stains in a few of the margins. Thomas, Cowperthwait & Company of Philadelphia purchased the copyright of the New Universal Atlas from Samuel Augustus Mitchell, Sr. in 1850. Taken from this atlas, this map is attractive and ledgible, and displays a growing network of rail roads and roads. The map also displays the topographical features of the state, including lakes and rivers. Ferry locations are also noted. Inset map of New Orleans. Inset steam boat route tables.
