An engraved map, with color was and outline colors. Size: 30 inches X 25 inches folding to 7-1/2 inches x 5 inches. Map Type: Case This is a superior copy, with good outline and wash colors. This case map of England, Wales and the southern part of Scotland by was created by the noted cartographer John Cary based on his large wall map of the same area produced in the 1790's. The map is noted at the bottom as corrected to the year 1816. The map is very detailed and includes information on roads, bridges, canals and other forms of transportation and infrastructure. There are hand notes found in the cartouche about distances between various places.
