This is the first Mitchell's Guide to label Texas as such and not as part of Mexico, and the first to be published as a booklet as rather than a simple fold-out chart. This is an excellent example of this early map and chart.
The map shows as far northeast as parts of New Brunswick; Southeast to Florida just above Tampa Bay; Southwest to Texas around Galveston Bay; and Northwest through parts of Missouri Territory [Kansas and Nebraska].
Towns and county courthouses are displayed along with the distances between them and the connecting roads. The locations of Revolutionary War battle grounds, Indian tribe ranges, forts and military camps are all identified.
