A lithograph with full hand colored wash Size: 13-3/4 inches X 17 inches Map Type: Atlas This is a good copy with vivid colors. General age toning throughout, water stain in left and lower margin and border, not affecting main image. Some offsetting. Thomas, Cowperthwait & Company of Philadelphia purchased the copyright of the New Universal Atlas from Samuel Augustus Mitchell, Sr. in 1850. Taken from this atlas, this map is attractive and legible, and displays a growing network of rail roads, roads, and canals. The map also displays the topographical features of the state, including mountains and rivers. Ferry locations are also noted.
