A wax engraved map with color outlines Size: 13-1/2 inches X 22-3/4 inches; Scale: 1 inch = approximately 48 miles. Map Type: Atlas This is an excellent copy, with very good lines and markings. A little age darkened along the centerline crease. George Cram was a noted Civil War veteran, writer and illustrator who served with the 105th Illinois Infantry Regiment and founded the publishing company with his uncle in 1867. This map shows many frontier towns and places that have long disappeared. Railroads, forts, camps, Indian crossings, and many other designations can be seen. Inset map of the Texas Panhandle.
