This is a superior copy, with vivid hand-drawn outline colors. Superbly framed in a beautiful silver frame. Outside dimensions 18 inches X 20.5 inches

Stamped "Meyer's Handatlas No. 103" in the upper right corner above the neat line. Originally issued in one of the finest German atlas' of the 19th century, Grosser Hand-Atlas, this interesting map of Texas was based on William H. Emory's 1844 map of Texas which was used for the annexation of Texas in 1845.

The map shows the Republic of Texas borders, extending along the Rio Grande River, north of Santa Fe and into today's Colorado. The new border between Mexico and the U.S. is illustrated, including upper California territories lost by Mexio in the U.S. Mexico war.

The Indian tribal areas are outlined with population numbers following each tribe name.
