A copper plate engraved map. Size: 10 1/24 inches X 14 1/4 inches to the plate marks Map Type: Atlas This is a superior, clean copy. Count Erik Dahlberg, a military man and engineer was born Stockholm, Sweden, and intensely studied mathematics, architecture, perspective and map drawing. He rose to the level of titled nobility due to his military abilities. In He was best known for compiling the impressive collection of drawings called Suecia Antiqua et Hodierna, or Ancient and Modern Sweden, from which this map is taken. The title of this map is translated "A map over places in Småland, where remains and traces lead to the town of Troy. A plan over the old town of Troy in Småland". The decorative vignette included in this image is a hunting scene.
