A steel plate engraving with hand colored outlines. Size: 10 1/4 inches X 13 1/4 inches Map Type: Atlas This is an excellent copy with vivid color. The center line is showing a slight shade of age discoloration. Exquisitly framed in a french mat in a 1 inch dark brown and gold wood frame. Outside dimensions are 17 inches X 20 1/4 inches. This supurb map of the United States was taken from The Illustrated Atlas, And Modern History Of The World Geographical, Political, Commercial & Statistical.... The states are outlined by color, Texas is shown in it's original statehood configuration before the 1Compromise of 1850. The inset vignettes include depictions of a the Capital building in Washington D.C, Indians hunting buffalo, Penn's treaty with the Indians, and the original Washington monument. The ornate border includes the portraits of Washington and Franklin.
