This map of Arkansas is from the 2nd edition A New Universal Atlas Comprising Separate Maps Of all the Principal Empires, Kingdoms & States Throughout the World: and forming a distinct Atlas Of The United States. Carefully Compiled from the best Authorities Extant by Jeremiah Greenleaf. a new edition revised and corrected to the present time. 1842. Printed by G.R. French, Brattleboro, Vermont.

The foundation for this map is David Burr's 1835 issue of his map of Arkansas. New details have been added by Greenleaf, primarily new railroads and several new counties. Burr's imprint has been removed from the map, as well as the copyright notice below the neat line.

An interesting aberration appears in this version of the Arkansas map. Miller county, which appears in Burr's 1835 map in the lower south west corner of the state, has been given over to Texas, reflecting modern day borders.
