This is a clean copy. Originally issued folding, now pressed with some folds reinforced on verso. A tear into the image in the upper left has been expertly repaired.

This map is full of interesting details, including places, Indian tribes, forts, roads and other political and geographical information. Several areas occupied by Indians are identified west of the Mississippi River.

The map was drawn by Guizot and engraved with bold key-board style borders. Dated 1840 in the cartouche.
